Since my childhood, I’ve been an avid reader who could devour three or four books in a week. The worlds created by writers kept stirring my imagination and made me admire the power of written words.
Later I began writing my journal and found it very rewarding for self-development and self-exploration. Writing produced a soothing effect and helped to organize my thoughts and ideas. Moreover, it empowered me to try to discover the magic of creation myself. I began writing poems and short stories which I would read to my first audience: my parents.
My love for languages and writing have resulted in graduating with my major in English Language and Literature where I deepened my knowledge and mastered the subtleties of the word. I’ve spent 10 years teaching English at the university where I encouraged students to try their hand in writing. I saw its positive influence on their academic progress and was happy to be part of the process.
After our family had relocated to Canada, I realized this was the opportunity to change the career path and start writing professionally. After the first few months of settling in, I concentrated on my job search and concluded it was essential to reinforce my knowledge through formal education.
Having explored the opportunities and after the consultations with career advisers, I chose Humber’s Professional Writing and Communications postgraduate program. The program helped me to hone my writing skills expanding my proficiency in editing, storytelling and writing for the web.
Writing is part of my life, my driving force and my inspiration. And I’m ready to share my expertise and passion in a professional environment.
